Each bringing their respective fields of expertise to the business, having been responsible for an industry track record of over 3.7 GWp of renewable energy assets.

A renewables entrepreneur and visionary Founder/CEO of CEC with over 14 years of experience in the sector. He is driven by a profound passion for sustainability and finance, aiming to make carbon-neutrality profitable. With a proven track record, he successfully built and sold two businesses to globally renowned renewables companies - SunEdison and Statkraft, where he gained invaluable industry insight. Alexander has since established and is leading CEC, through innovation and his expertise. Within a year of founding CEC, Alexander secured millions in non-recourse seed capital from UHNWs and VCs, a testament to their trust in the company's mission. CEC has experienced remarkable growth under his leadership, expanding from a small team of 3 to a dynamic organisation of 23 employees. Alexander has been recognised as a finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year (Great British Entrepreneur Awards). With a strong focus on utility-scale distributed generation projects, he is dedicated to driving sustainable transformation.
Matt Williams
CFO | Board Member
A corporate finance professional who has specialised in valuing and funding renewable energy projects since 2005. A board member of CEC since early 2023, Matt brings an extensive renewables and finance network, and is responsible for all financial management including debt and equity fundraisings, valuations, reporting and payroll/accounts. In his last role Matt was a board member and CFO at Blue Energy, a UK onshore wind investor which had an installed capacity of 6MW when he joined, but over the next 5 years funded (debt & equity) and built over 320MW of onshore wind. Prior to Blue Energy, Matt headed up project financing at Falck Renewables for a portfolio of c. 400MW in the UK, France and Spain. He joined Falck Renewables from the Environmental Infrastructure Advisory team at Ernst & Young where he trained as a CA in corporate finance.
Sam Dight
COO | Board Member
A seasoned real estate professional with 14 years of experience in land acquisition, development advisory, and enterprise sales. With a background at prestigious firms like Knight Frank and Savills, Samuel's leadership and organisational skills have led to the successful management of a highly effective land team at CEC. He has led the securitisation of our largest land deals, and has created and maintained strong agency relations across industry. In addition, he researched and implemented the systems that enabled the company to be both data-led, and highly scalable, now essential to the day-to-day operations of the business. Sam also spearheaded the high growth hiring strategy of CEC.
David Lyons
Projects Director
With over 30 years of experience specialising in connectivity and supply solutions, David led the connection of the largest energy infrastructure projects in the UK and Ireland, including Teesside Offshore Wind Farm, Central Network's New Connections contract and Northern Power Grid Major Build contract. He has extensive knowledge of REC, DNO, TNO, IDNO, renewables and multi-utility functions, which is fully utilised within CEC to evaluate the Network Capability for export and connectivity, via the G99 and G100 system operator processes.
